Geomantic Fields
Blood Moon
Geomantic Fields examines the instability of images as they move between systems of measurement, translation, and belief. Drawing from aerial imagery, geodesy, geomancy, code, and weaving, I treat the image as a mutable field shaped by distortion, repetition, chance, and competing ways of knowing.
As images are fractured, mirrored, layered, and re-encoded, geographic certainty gives way to forms that hover between map, cosmogram, artifact, and signal. Geodesy measures the earth; geomancy reads it for hidden forces. Bringing these systems together allows the work to question the image as evidence and instead consider it as a site where knowledge remains provisional, unstable, and open to interpretation.
